Re "The Secret Sharer" by Paul Hond

"I have seen the enemy, and he is us," said Pogo some decades ago. The greatest threat is still from within, and I wonder what Michael Leiter and the National Counterterrorism Centre (NCTC) are doing about it?
It's not that this is a domestic threat inside the US, but instead it consists of US personnel behaving in a manner internationally [such] that their abuses of civil liberties and human rights are carried out in such an extreme manner that terrorism is being created along with the alienation of local populations in friendly western countries as I have been experiencing as a surveillance target in London directly since August 1998 but more especially since February 2001 just after George W Bush was initially inaugurated and seven months before 9/11.
I am wondering what the NCTC is doing about these international abuses by US personnel such as Colonel Vine and Lt Harry Bird, former US Marines, who joined an already existing surveillance abuse effort in February 2001 by carrying out the most sophisticated and totally invasive surveillance technology tracking and invasion of privacy abuse on an indefinite basis 24/7/365 based upon a massive hoax of their own creation in order to create a threat out of whole cloth for their own greed, glory and power[?}
They are the ones who feed the junk information into the intelligence pipeline that distracts and bogs down the process of evaluation which is intended [to] counter the real threats. I submit that they were doing this before 9/11 in 2001 in my direct experience and continued this activity which subsequently also contributed to the London bombing and would-be bombing of 7/7 and 21/7/2005.
They are still carrying on with this abuse as of this writing eleven years after it started originally. No amount of documenting the facts and reporting them have enlighten[ed] anyone about the reality of this situation and its threat with respect to creating terrorists and distracting resources in such a manner that terrorists are offered a better opportunity to succeed.
Columbia's Professor Richard K Betts is quoted as saying that "people do not tend to reason objectively about evidence" and give a greater weight to evidence which supports their belief. That is an absolute truth, but for the manipulator from within this is used to play others by feeding belief systems with fabricated evidence to achieve corrupt self interest objectives that also breed terrorism and facilitate terrorism.
Given all that has been done at NCTC to broaden the information evaluation process, I have seen that this does not have the necessary impact at the ground level where corrupt information originates and causes the fundamental problem of terrorism as I've directly experienced for many years and addressed continuously without success.
While it might be laudable that the information is processed and evaluated at the NCTC level for dissemination and reporting, what actually is being done to work back down the line of fraudulent information that is intended to misrepresent and mislead? As I see it especially after reading this article, this is the Achilles heel of the whole NCTC process which will lead to another terrorist attack of great significance.
Michael Leiter says he works ". . . with everyone from "first responders" . . . to the military in Afghanistan, and everything in between." I submit further that he is missing a big section of what he needs to address. This is not necessarily his fault for they make every effort to hide which is made possible by the surveillance technology they use or at the very least seek to deceive in any way that they can to get away with their fraud which has been successful in my direct experience from before 9/11.
If his goal and that of a centralised process for intelligence information is to ensure that an attack is prevented, what I've experienced for many years appears to be completely outside the loop of such activity to the degree that this surveillance activity operates completely outside the law on an even more extended basis than it does on the ground here in North Kensington at the epicentre of where the 21/7 would-be bombers operated.
"Assessing the threat" was the title to the section providing his comments. He is not fully assessing the threat because the rogues are still operating on their own to the detriment of western governments and the people of this world, and they are knowingly being allowed to do so. Michael Leiter is not operating on full information. This is a critical failure in counterintelligence involving its very essence.
Contrary to what Columbia Professor Brigitte Nacos says, I cannot yet fully agree that Michael Leiter "knows the problems . . . knows what has to be done." So far I have not seen the evidence of that in what I believe to be one of the most critical areas of his international activity. He still has a big job ahead of him.
The more sophisticated the intelligence gathering technology the more easily it is abused. I am not talking about moles. I am talking about those with general criminal personalities who are a part of the system.
I intended to send Michael Leiter and/or the NCTC a copy of this Email, but there was no Email address whatsoever available on the NCTC web site. This is an organisation responsible for information that does not want to be informed. I shudder.
Sincerely yours
Gary D Chance GS '69, GSB '73
