Josh Harris is onto some ideas right and got others wrong.
You could help a great deal if you would start reporting the reality of what is happening with respect to surveillance and Big Brother both from the government and public's perspectives which are at opposite ends of that spectrum called surveillance.
I. Loss of individuality by brainwave or brain to brain interaction
I'm not so certain if the loss of individuation will occur, but brainwave monitoring, i.e., brain activity including thoughts, sight, hearing, etc, is very much a reality as I've been communicating to you for some time.
The brain is very much a computer just like the PC with its own chemical power source and is just like the computer or electronic device where electromagnetic radiation emissions can be intercepted and decoded.
It's been done solidly with electronic devices for at least 50 years by the Sigint services (NSA, et al) calling it Tempest. It's even turning up as either a plot theme or an important part of plot in programmes like Numb3rs and Spooks with respect to electronic devices.
What can be done to the computer has been done to the brain, i.e., electromagnetic radiation halo surrounding the head, which I've experienced directly as a target for nine years 24/7/365 since February 2009.
The ability to feedback sound electronically has enabled me to know what is being done resulting from the sadistic character of those using this surveillance technology.
II. Orwell was wrong: people will demand to have open lives and governments will not intrude with surveillance. False.
Governments are intruding totally into the lives of people as I've experienced for 24/7/365 11.5 years since mid-August 1998 and with brain wave monitoring and feedback surveillance technology since February 2001.
The normal general resistance to this intrusion is being exploited by people's naiveté in terms of commercial Big Brother, reality TV and other activities such as Josh Harris has done. Andy Warhol did it originally by filming a man sleeping for six or eight hours then featuring this as a film work of art.
It's like feeding wild animals. They lose their fear of humans. By conditioning the public to reality TV and films it is losing its fear of intrusion into privacy that results in the public's guard being dropped so that totally invasive and destructive brain wave monitoring and feedback surveillance technology is becoming generally acceptable except to those like me who are its targets.
It's fascinating to consider the character of those watching reality TV and/or films who are generally following the lives of others and the character of those who use totally invasive brain wave surveillance and other similar kinds of surveillance. They are generally the same.
[NB a distinction with respect to information content is important here. Following for information is not the same as simply following living activity, e.g., Big Brother reality TV.]
These people tend to be what I would call the lower orders for lack of a better and less offensive word.
In fact, they tend to be the no-hopers who have nothing especially power, or they have a sense of powerlessness and seek to not only find this in others but also to destroy by sadistic behaviour which provides a perverse sense of power that has to be repeated since it is not real. Hence, the addictive quality of reality TV and surveillance technology itself.
Erich Fromm calls sadism the religion of the psychic cripple characterising sadism as devotional. This is what happens to those who slavishly follow reality TV, track other people's lives or use totally invasive surveillance indefinitely 24/7/365 against a single target like me. They are seeking control over other people's lives to fill this sense of an absence of power which is acted out destructively.
What is actually happening is that there will be a shift from publicly available reality TV, films, Internet, etc. which is opening the door on a mass basis to the private invasion of non-consensual targets for control purposes which will be driven by the sadistic in government who seek to both hide and perpetuate unlawful and criminal behaviour as I've experienced for the past 11.5 years.
In that scenario people will be squashed to the lowest common denominator making Josh Harris' statement about loss of individuality just a step along the path to complete loss which results from a master/slave relationship. Destruction of people and lives will be the result as is happening to me where I have no recourse.
You should begin exploring this technology and its use/abuse including comparing it with the worlds you are now entering with the likes of Josh Harris so that this can be properly assimilated by the general public and incorporated into the democratic society at large so that its abuses as I've experienced can be properly and democratically controlled.
